Frequently Asked Questions
Why did the name change?
Speechcenter joined Sidekick Therapy Partners in 2024. We united under one name to reflect a shared mission and to provide consistent, high‑quality care across Tennessee and North Carolina.
Will my services or clinician change?
No. Your care team, treatment plan, and appointment schedule remain the same. The name change does not affect your ongoing therapy.
Do I need to re-register or complete new paperwork?
In most cases, no. You may see updated consent forms or privacy notices (HIPAA) reflecting the Sidekick name, but your existing records and authorizations carry over.
Will my insurance still cover services?
Yes. We continue to work with the same insurance plans. If your insurer requires updated documentation (e.g., a referral or authorization naming “Sidekick Therapy Partners”), our team will help you seamlessly update it.
What about billing—who will appear on my statements?
Billing statements and receipts will now show Sidekick Therapy Partners. If you use HSA/FSA or need proof of service, your dates of service and CPT codes remain unchanged.
Do I need a new referral?
Usually not. If your plan or physician prefers the referral to match the new name, we can request an updated order on your behalf.
Are your locations changing?
No. Addresses, hours, and phone numbers remain the same. Only the name and branding are different.
Will my patient portal or contact email change?
Your portal access remains. You might see updated links or emails using the sidekicktherapy.com domain. We’ll provide clear redirects and instructions.
How are my medical records handled?
All clinical records, progress notes, and evaluations remain securely maintained under HIPAA. The name change does not change your privacy protections.
Does the name change affect school-based services?
No. School services continue uninterrupted. You’ll simply see the Sidekick name on communications and reports.
